ONCHIPS coordinator Floris Zwanenburg once again captivated a wide and enthusiastic audience at the Mañana Mañana festival, held from June 13-16, 2024, on the Larenberg estate in Laren, The Netherlands. This lively event offered attendees a rich mix of music, theatre, and food, and featured the "Universitent," where speakers from the University of Twente delivered a series of inspiring lectures on various topics.
In his talk, "Kun je op één atoom rekenen?" ("Can you count on a single atom?"), Floris Zwanenburg explained how nanotechnology can create single-atom circuits that serve as building blocks for quantum computers. He also highlighted the master thesis work of recent graduate Quim Torrent Nicolau, which focused on the charge readout of certain single-atom nanodevices. We eagerly anticipate another exciting presentation on quantum science and technology at next year's edition.
